Troubleshooting, FAQ and glossary
Frequently asked questions
I forgot my password.
Click Lost password? on the login page and enter your username or e-mail address. This works only if the platform can send e-mail. If you receive nothing within 15 minutes (check the spam folder), contact your teacher or Contact support; an administrator can set a temporary password.
I cannot see a course.
- Check My courses with the filter All and Removed from view.
- Search the Catalogue. If the course is there, enrol yourself (with the enrolment key, if needed) – chapter 7.
- If the course is not in the catalogue, it may be hidden until the teacher publishes it, or the course has not yet started. Ask the teacher.
- Make sure you are logged in with your own account and not as a guest.
I cannot see an activity or it is locked.
Read the restriction text under the activity (for example a date, a group or a previous activity that must be completed). Complete the condition or wait until the date. If you belong to the wrong group, contact the teacher.
The file upload fails.
- Check the maximum file size and the accepted file types next to the upload box.
- Reduce the size: export maps as PDF or PNG in lower resolution, compress data as ZIP, split large submissions into several files.
- Avoid special characters in file names (use letters, digits, - and _).
- Try another browser or a more stable connection; wait until the upload bar has finished before you click Save changes.
My camera or microphone does not work in the video meeting.
- Click the camera/lock icon in the browser's address bar and allow the camera and microphone for the meeting page; reload.
- Close other programs that use the camera (Teams, Zoom, another browser tab).
- In the meeting, open the arrow next to the microphone/camera button and select the correct device.
- Check the operating system privacy settings (Windows: Settings › Privacy › Camera/Microphone; macOS: System Settings › Privacy & Security).
- Use a current version of Chrome, Edge or Firefox; on a phone use the Jitsi Meet app.
- If the room says it is waiting for the host, the first participant must sign in once to open it (chapter 16).
I do not receive notifications by e-mail.
E-mail may not yet be configured on the platform. Check the bell icon and the calendar; install the Moodle app for push notifications when it is available.
The page looks strange or buttons do not react.
Reload the page (Ctrl+F5 / Cmd+Shift+R), clear the browser cache, disable browser extensions that block scripts, or try another browser. Check whether a display mode (for example high contrast) is switched on in Accessibility and display.
I was logged out while writing a long text.
Sessions end after a period of inactivity. Write long texts in a text editor first and paste them, or save drafts regularly.
