Chapter 15 / 22

Grades, feedback, calendar and deadlines

Your grades in one course

  1. Open the course and click Grades in the secondary menu. The User report opens.
  2. The table lists every graded item (assignments, quizzes, workshops, forums …) grouped in categories, with the columns Grade, Range, Percentage, Feedback and possibly Weight, Letter grade and Contribution to course total.
  3. Click the name of an item to open the activity and see the detailed feedback (for example the rubric of an assignment or the review of a quiz).
  4. The last row, Course total, shows the overall result calculated according to the rules set by the teacher.

Note: An empty cell or a dash means that the item has not been graded yet. Teachers may hide some grades until all works are assessed, so the course total can change. The grade in the university's official records is decided by the teacher according to your university's rules; the platform total is a working result.

Your grades in all courses

Open avatar menu › Grades. The Overview report lists all your courses with the course total. Click a course name to open its user report.

Understanding feedback

  • Assignments – grade, rubric levels, comments, annotated PDF, feedback files (chapter 11).
  • Quizzes – marks per question, correct answers, overall feedback in the review (chapter 12).
  • Workshops – assessments of classmates and the grade for your assessments (chapter 13).
  • Competencies – ratings of your proficiency with evidence (chapter 19).

Tip: If you think a grade is wrong, first read the feedback and the rubric carefully, then write a polite private message to the teacher with a concrete reference (which criterion, which part of your work).

The calendar

Click Calendar in the top bar (month view). The calendar collects all dates that concern you:

Exporting to your own calendar

You can see your platform deadlines in Outlook, Google Calendar or on your phone:

  1. In the calendar click Export calendar (at the bottom of the page or in the menu).
  2. Choose which events to export (for example All events or Events related to courses) and the period (for example Recent and next 60 days).
  3. Click Export to download an .ics file for one-time import, or Get calendar URL and Copy URL to subscribe – your external calendar then updates automatically.

Note: The calendar URL contains a personal key. Do not share it; anybody with the URL can see your events.

Planning your deadlines

  • Check Upcoming events on the Dashboard at least once a week.
  • Remember time zones in international courses: dates are shown in the time zone of your profile (Sofia is one hour ahead of Olomouc and Niš all year round – EET vs. CET).
  • Do not rely on e-mail reminders – they may not yet be switched on. The bell notifications and the calendar are always up to date.
  • Plan to submit at least a few hours before the deadline to leave time for technical problems.
